Dragon Ball: Legacy

So awhile ago, I began to think about how a Super Saiyan would change the DC Universe. How would he/she compare to the heroes/villians? Would they be invincible compare to everyone else? Who would his/her rogue gallery consist of?

Naturally, I began to think and created an idea for a series to exist within the DC Universe. The original plan was a little weak, especially since the series starts after the protagonist has obtained the ability to go Super Saiyan. I didn't want to change that aspect of the story, so I just needed develop some more conflicts other than the ones that could be solved through fighting. But what conflict would a good guy with that much power have? Then the answer came to me: In DragonBall Z, most of the good guys don't even hesitate to kill an enemy. Yet, Superman, one of the most powerful heroes in the DC Universe, will let an enemy surrender. So one of the biggest conflicts surrounding these DragonBall-esque characters would be their attitude towards killing their enemies and will place them in conflict with most of the other heroes.

I would also like to use that series to explore other parts of the DragonBall Universe. I've always wondered what was the name of the species Frieza belonged to. I had an idea to make the Saibamen an extremely intelligent race that sells more primitive Saibamen to those willing to pay. The Saibamen sold would be like those Nappa and Vegeta used when they first arrived on Earth in DragonBall Z.

Bringing to my next point: I would really like have a lot of throwbacks in this series. So there would be Androids, a Cooler-esque character, a Majin Buu-esque character and a Broly-esque character. No Cell-esque character because I want to be a little original. I don't want my character to reach Super Saiyan 3 or above, so the most powerful form he's likely to receive will probably similar to Gohan's Ultimate Form. His biggest strength will be his speed. I want him to be able to be seen as the strongest hero in the world by his peers, but when he faces an enemy that can out-muscle him, the main character will rely on his speed.

I'm going to conclude this post with a discussion on how canon this series will be compared to the real DB Universe. In this world, the Saiyans were wiped out be Frieza expect for a splinter group that were formed by Vegeta, Raditz and Nappa, along with a few more not named in the series. Bardock and Frieza killed each other and Goku was still on Planet Vegeta when it blew up. Earth follows the DC continuity, so it won't be like the DB Earth. I have some finer points to work out but that's about it so far.

I would love it if I could write this series for DC. That would be a dream job.
